This movie was directed by a mainstream film producer and director, John Hayes (1930-2000), under the nom de plume of Howard Perkins. Hayes started out in mainstream and his 1958 short "The Kiss" was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. From then on he made lots of horror and exploitation films for the drive-in movie theatre scene of the 1960s, and then moved to horror in the 70s. He had a side gig from the 70s on making ocasional hardcore porn films. At the same time as he was shooting these movies, he was working under
his real name as an actor and director. He pops up in bit parts in the
wholesome Disney family features The Shaggy D.A. (1976) and Treasure of
Matecumbe (1976) (he also has cameo roles in two of his own movies). His
last directing credit was an episode of the horror anthology TV series
Tales from the Darkside (1983).
This movie has a proper musical score and attempts to be a film with explicit content rather than a pure sex film. Hayes also made Baby Rosemary around this time.
